We Are Connected From Across the Pacific
This is a photograph of a portion of a shipping dock that washed up on the shore of Oregon yesterday. It’s from Japan and was set aloft after the devastating tsunami of last March 2011. The dock floated from across the Pacific Ocean and only stopped when it got to the nearest land. It’s been traveling for over a year and is part of the second wave of debris to have crossed across the ocean. First waves have been hitting Alaska for over a month. Most of the debris has sunken, but more is expected to hit the West Coast. More photos at Huffington Post.
