Not that Snarky and Pissy, but it's just the way I feel sometimes. Read expanded Snark and Piss commentary here -- when I feel like writing it: http://snarkandpiss.wordpress.com
No matter how you slice it, Quentin Tarantino is one hell of a controversial movie director. Whether you love him or hate him, one thing is for certain, he is in your face whether it’s Reservoir Dogs, Kill Bill, Pulp Fiction, or Inglourious Bastards. His new movie is no more or less controversial, being that it’s about a slave in America who helps a bounty hunter kill people… specifically, white people. Jamie Foxx stars as Django (the “D” is silent), and the cast includes Bastards’ evil German commandant, Christoph Waltz as well as Leonardo DiCaprio, who plays a plantation owner. The trailer that is included at the African-American-focused film website link, Shadow and Act, is lushly filmed, and despite any reservations I may have originally had, seems like a solid movie. You can already see by the comments at Shadow and Act that the conversation about this movie has only begun.
